Does a 6-Pin MDB Plug Mean a Card Reader Will Work?

It is a good sign, but not a guarantee. The controller, firmware, power, and reader-specific requirements still have to match.

What the plug tells you

A normal 6-pin MDB connection usually means the machine uses MDB peripherals.

What it does not tell you

It does not prove the controller software is new enough or that a specific reader is supported.

Older connectors

9-, 12-, and 15-pin payment interfaces may need a real controller or protocol conversion, not a passive adapter cable.
