Why a cable is not enough
The connector mismatch is only the visible part of the problem. The old interface may use a different electrical and communication protocol.
Conversion options
Supported machines can sometimes be upgraded with an MDB conversion module or replacement controller.
Match the machine first
Choose the conversion by exact machine and controller family. Do not buy a generic 9-pin-to-6-pin cable and assume it performs the conversion.
